Get to Know Our Empathetic Chiropractor

Dr. Sweet understands what our members are going through because he's lived through it himself. Neck and back pain, difficulty sleeping, nightmares, chronic fatigue, brain fog, memory problems, weak immune function, cystic acne, eczema and other symptoms plagued him for decades, and none of the myriad healthcare modalities he tried helped. He wasn't even aware the symptoms were related to injuries sustained in a motocross accident. It wasn't until he received an upper cervical adjustment that things changed, and he felt like he had his life back again.

He understands the frustration and despair associated with symptoms and traumas that seem "unhelpable," and he's passionate about helping practice members who have lost hope that things can ever change. Atlas Orthogonal adjustments are often called miracle adjustments by our practice members. Everyone that has this experience wishes they would have known sooner.

The Time to Elevate Your Health Is Now

Many of our members recognize the value in our specific approach to Atlas Orthogonal adjustments and are willing to travel a distance for our services. A unique aspect of our practice is our problem-solving approach. Our goal is to ensure the atlas is properly adjusted before the member leaves the office. In complex cases, we may need to spend extra time with our members until their adjustments hold at no additional cost for the extended appointment time.

For very complex cases, we may have members to stay in the office for several rechecks to ensure they remain in alignment before leaving. We are dedicated to helping you find relief, and experience better health and wellness!

The Upper Cervical Advantage

Your brain controls your entire body through nerves that travel through your neck. Therefore, any misalignments to the top three bones of the neck of your spine, the occiput, the atlas, and the axis, can result in symptoms anywhere in your body.

Some common issues, with upper cervical trauma are neck pain, back pain, headaches, fatigue, and migraines. It surprises many members to learn that sciatica and lower back pain can often be related to issues in the upper neck.

When we restore alignment to the upper neck, members often experience health benefits that they never realized were connected to their spine, such as, more energy, better sleep, improved balance coordination, relief from migraines and headaches, less dizziness, and relief from depression and anxiety.

As a Board Certified Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor, Dr. Sweet is passionate about using this life-changing technique to help people of all ages.

Along with upper cervical work, Dr. Sweet offers a range of full-spine adjusting techniques that are tailored to each practice members specific needs and goals.

Conditions We Treat

What makes Atlas Chiropractic PC different from others in Lacey?

At Atlas Chiropractic PC, aside from full spine chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Ryan Sweet specializes in Atlas Orthogonal upper cervical chiropractic care, a precise and gentle approach that restores alignment in the top of the spine. Many practice members come to us after trying other doctors and treatments without success, and they finally find lasting relief here. Our focus is on helping your body heal naturally so you can regain energy, sleep better, and experience long-term health improvements.

What conditions can upper cervical chiropractic care help with?

Atlas Orthogonal adjustments can address a wide range of issues connected to the nervous system, including neck pain, back pain, headaches, migraines, fatigue, dizziness, poor sleep, sciatica, even anxiety or depression, and the list goes on. By correcting misalignments in the upper neck, many practice members notice improvements in areas of health they never realized were connected to the spine.

What should I expect as a new practice member at Atlas Chiropractic PC?

Your first visit includes a consultation, health history, and thorough exam. If needed, we take specialized digital X-rays of your upper neck to understand exactly what's happening. On your second visit, Dr. Sweet will explain your results, outline a personalized care plan, and give you your first adjustment. If your upper cervical spine is found to be subluxated, we also take a post-adjustment X-ray to confirm the correction.

How long does a typical chiropractic appointment take?

Most follow-up chiropractic visits at Atlas Chiropractic PC take about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your care plan and recheck needs. Initial consultations may take longer to include assessments and imaging. Dr. Sweet ensures each adjustment holds properly before you leave, prioritizing precision over speed for lasting results.

Are Atlas Orthogonal adjustments safe and gentle?

Yes. Atlas Orthogonal is a precise, low-force technique that does not involve twisting or cracking the neck. Practice members often describe it as surprisingly gentle yet profoundly effective. Dr. Sweet is Board-Certified in the technique and has over 20 years of experience helping people of all ages, from newborns to seniors.

Does Dr. Sweet treat children and families?

Absolutely. Dr. Sweet provides care for people of all ages, including children and infants. In fact, he adjusted his own newborn son when he was struggling to breathe after birth, which made an immediate difference. Families often choose Atlas Chiropractic PC for a safe, natural way to support their children's growth, development, and overall wellness.

How do I know if chiropractic care can help me?

The best way to know is to schedule an initial visit. During your first appointments, Dr. Sweet will review your health history, perform a thorough exam, and take digital X-rays if needed to determine whether full spine care and/or upper cervical chiropractic care is right for you. Many of our practice members are surprised to discover the root of their long-standing health issues and finally find hope for real healing.
